Murphy bed? Wall bed? Perhaps you are one of the many who have no idea what I am talking about. To be honest most Gen Ys have not heard of a Murphy bed it simply wasnt popular during our upbringing. Or maybe your only knowledge of a Murphy bed is from old films where the Murphy bed would slam an occupant inside? We have come a long way since then. Wall beds are making a huge comeback and its not just in small apartments but surprisingly in sprawling suburban neighborhoods. A few years ago my pare notch decided to turn my old room into an office for my father; at the time it did not bother me that my childhood room had been transformed into someone else workspace.
Many people are unsure whether to buy a spare bed or a sofa bed (sleeping sofas) for their home so they can accommodate unexpected guests. It happens to most couples: they buy their new home with a standard three bedrooms and have loads of room for overnight visitors. Then they have a family and are reduced to one spare room. Then another is born and you are reduced to none. Sure the kids will share or even sleep in mom and dads room in an emergency but what happens when they get older and refuse to share - particularly if you have a boy and a girl? Its not as if new pare notch wring their hands with the news and wonder what they will do about spare rooms!
