Do you love that designer store look when it comes to buying your furniture but do not like the cost? This coffee table hack with storage crates will give your living room a new look and some extra storage space. First find four wooden crates that are the same size. Then find the stain or paint that you like. A stain with gray tones will give it more of a rustic look. Or you can use a traditional stain if you want a darker piece. We threw down a drop cloth and got to staining using a couple of old (but clean) socks and some gloves underneath.
If you really want to add an elegant touch to a room consider using vintage coffee tables. These older pieces of furniture are often made from mahogany cherry or oak wood and these woods have attained rich patina and deep color over the years. While hardwoods appeared to be the material of choice there were also decorative tables that were made from metal; this was often seen in furnishings imported from Europe. Many of these tables were created by very famous designers and artists and today you can expect to pay hefty sums for these quality pieces in a retail establishment.
