If you really want to add an elegant touch to a room consider using vintage coffee tables. These older pieces of furniture are often made from mahogany cherry or oak wood and these woods have attained rich patina and deep color over the years. While hardwoods appeared to be the material of choice there were also decorative tables that were made from metal; this was often seen in furnishings imported from Europe. Many of these tables were created by very famous designers and artists and today you can expect to pay hefty sums for these quality pieces in a retail establishment.
Coffee tables come in various styles and are usually designed for the living room for writing or even working and are generally between 28 to 30 inches in height. Low tables however are exactly that; very low and only a few inches tall and can make a big difference to a living room that has matching furniture and other complimentary pieces to go with the typically low coffee table. Mainly because of its unusual dwarf look it gives an unconventional and unique look to any room that calls out for attention.
